JONATHAN EASLEY
Jonathan Easley is an award-winning screenwriter and former national political journalist who spent a decade at The Hill covering the White House, campaigns, and elections. His debut script, the backwoods thriller Red Right Hand — starring Orlando Bloom and Andie MacDowell — was released in 2024. He has landed on The Black List twice, for the horror-noir The Midnight Pool (2022) and the thriller script Bloody Mingo (2024), and currently has six feature films in various stages of development.

JORDAN
Trey Houston Jordan is a filmmaker and entrepreneur based in North Alabama. In addition to his work as a writer and producer at RenVision Media, he serves as Head of Content for a consumer goods company — a role that sharpens his understanding of culture, trends, and the relationships people develop with media. In 2026, he founded The Scene Society to connect aspiring filmmakers with the resources, community, and support they need to break into the industry and develop their craft. He is currently in development on his AFF 2nd Round selection "It's Only A Bird."
A Note From The Founder
To the filmmaker,
Making movies is hard. There will never be a streamlined process to completing a film (I don't care what the AI fanboys are screaming.) A great film is the culmination of shared passion among a group of devoted individuals who believe stories are the transformative antidote to life.
For aspiring filmmakers (especially those far from the industry they wish to be a part of) developing the skills, gaining the knowledge, and building the community to achieve that goal can feel like an uphill climb. But as the industry adapts to the changes brought on by technology, the barrier to entry for anyone with a genuine passion for the craft is not what it once was.
New pathways are opening every day, and we wanted to build a place where hungry artists can learn and grow from the people who are actually working and navigating the business right now. So we humbly welcome you to The Scene Society. We hope you'll consider joining us.
